[Well, Endorsi might not have been too distressed by all of that, but she imagines the rest of the girls trapped here were. She doesn't quite have a handle on how to give assurances or provide emotional comfort, but she can provide one thing! Cocoa, and even that's solely because this place magically prevents bad food from being made. Still, wherever they've decided to gather today, she has a sizable amount of it for the other three.

Instead of broaching the huge, huge elephant in the room:]

[...well, yeah. honestly, that whole thing was distressing. katarina has never cursed her lack of a braincell more than she did when she realized one of the two people going up into that gondola was going to die and there was nothing they could do about it.

she's looking a little down as she stairs at the cocoa endorsi has provided, but when she looks up, she's smiling.

everything sucks and people are dying, but at least they have friends.]

Chocolate makes people happier, and it's nice to be warm, so hot chocolate is just the best.

Yes! Tea is more common, but hot chocolate is really good, too.

[Estelle has been fairly miserable since the trial, and even more so since the execution. She's calmed down a bit now, and is somber as she cradles a cup of cocoa in her hands, staring down at it.]

[It sounds blunt enough to almost be harsh, but it's sincere, too. She's not trying to be rude, for once.]

You shouldn't blame yourself for this. You're not the one who brought demons into our number, at least, or who forced those two to fight to the death. Awful things happen, but that doesn't mean you caused them.

But even if so, it feels like we played right into their hands.

What do you think our other choice was, in that case?

I hate to be forced into anything, too, but I won't feel guilty for doing what's necessary. You shouldn't, either.
